Eagle Bay Landing

Each year the HOA members vote in the Directors who will guide our community and meet it needs in agreement with the homeowners of Eagle Bay.

President – CC Whitinghill

Background: 50 plus years of social work and community cooperative activities; public speaker and workshop leader, former hospice chaplain and bereavement counselor. Business owner.

Occupation: Retired Counselor (active practice), Minister and Bereavement Specialist,

Education: BS – Psycholgy and Social Sciences, BS, Masters and Doctorate of Divinity, Certifications in Hospice and Persoanl Development Courses.

Qualifications: Strong leadership and communicative skills, 20 plus years of volunteer work, past member of Eagle Bay Landing preboard, President of Large HOA in South East Florida.

Personal: As a full-time owner and resident, I have a strong interest in maintaining and improving our neighborhood. I work and play well with others and see opportunities / challenges for increased clarity to unify a sense of community.

Vice-President – Steve Rowland

Background: 5 years chemical research (Hexcel Corporation), 31 years in the heavy construction business.

Occupation: Retired – Heavy Construction

Education: AA Degree – College of the Redwoods

Qualifications; Student Body Vice-President in college, developed skills throughout my career managing people, led and participated in meeting between contractors.

Personal: I would work to make improvements to the neighborhood and the policies of the HOA

Secretary – Mark Jiminez

Background: In my professional career, I have over ten years of experience in property management. I have developed strong leadership amd organization skills.

Occupation: Office Manager – Louis Louis, The Red Bar – Realtor / Property Manager.

Education; High School, AA GCSC since 2023

Qualifications: Member and leader of various commitees in the past.

Personal: Being Dominican, I am committed to fostering inclusivity, ensuring that everyone on our community feels welcomed and respected.

Treasurer – Karen Barnett

Background: 30 plus years in banking – Florida Realtor and Manager

Education: BA Boston College

Qualifications: Former HOA president and several years on HOA boards, Former board member treasurer of AVP First Union (now Wells Fargo), Managed Training HR and financial success of 27 SW Florida branches.

Personal: Lots of free time to dedicate to the neighborhood and help improve relations through communications and community events.

Parlimentarian – Sam Borden

Background: I have over 30 years experience at serving or being member of boards of trustees. I have chaired United Way boards in two communities and chaired numerous economic development and workforce development boards.

Education: PHD – Doctor of Philosphy – Degree in Higher Education

Occupation: Retired Community College president with 20,000 students / 110 million budget.

Qualifications: After retirement, I worked for the American Association of Community Colleges as a consultant to local community colleges to help with issues between boards and presidents. I later worked for the University of Maryland as a Doctoral Coach for the Doctorate in Business Management.

Personal: Over the years, I have learned what an effective board looks like. Effective boards are transparent, open to criticism and engaging other people in the activities of the board. Effective boards have open financial records and treat questions as opportunities to connect and not as crticism. Effective boards don’t stand behind bureaucratic rules that are not necessary; they change them. My desire is to work with the board members to help them become true neighbors to the neighborhood and treat everyone as a friend.
